Graduate Award Nominations
Nominations Now Being Accepted (Deadline is Friday, April 5, 2024)
LCCC Outstanding Adult Learner Graduate Award
The college has established this award to recognize an Adult Learner who has distinguished himself or herself in academic achievement and participation in college/community activities. To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Have completed their coursework primarily on a part-time basis (<11 credits per semester) and completed all the requirements to receive an associate degree or Certificate of Specialization during the Spring Commencement Ceremony.
- Have a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
- Graduation Requirements:
- All nominees must have applied for graduation and plan to attend the ceremony.
- If the candidate needs to complete 6 credits or less to satisfy graduation requirements these required courses must be registered for during the subsequent semester and paid for by May 1st
- Have demonstrated a commitment to college activities and be in good community standing.
The award will be presented during the Commencement Ceremony on Thursday, May 23, 2024. Any member of the college community may nominate a candidate. Each candidate will be notified of his or her nomination. They, in turn, must submit additional information to be further considered for this award. The Outstanding Adult Learner Graduate Award is presented to the most qualified candidate as determined by a selection committee composed of members of the College community. College staff and their family members are not eligible for this award.
Alumni Association's Outstanding Graduate Award
The members of the Alumni Association present this award each year during the Commencement Ceremony to a graduate who has demonstrated outstanding achievement while at LCCC. To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Have completed their coursework primarily on a full-time basis (>12 credits per semester) and be receiving an associate degree at the Spring Commencement Ceremony.
- Have a minimum 3.5 grade point average.
- Graduation Requirements:
- All nominees must have applied for graduation and plan to attend the ceremony.
- If the candidate needs to complete 6 credits or less to satisfy graduation requirements these required courses must be registered for during the subsequent semester and paid for by May 1st.
- Have demonstrated a commitment to college activities including participation in college-sponsored clubs, athletics, or other college-related activities; and be in good community standing.
The award will be presented during the Commencement Ceremony on Thursday, May 23, 2024. Any member of the College community may nominate candidates. The Alumni Association's Outstanding Graduate Award is presented to the most qualified candidate as determined by a selection committee composed of members of the College community.
