The Schulman Gallery of Luzerne County Community College is proud to present THE ART OF MUSIC ART EXHIBITION which will run from Friday, September 27, 2024 through Friday, October 25, 2024 and feature visual artworks that were inspired by music and created by NEPA regional artists.

If you are an Artist eighteen years of age or older residing in Northeastern Pennsylvania and would like your artwork that was inspired by music to be considered for inclusion in this upcoming exhibition, please visit the Schulman Gallery website at: www.luzerne.edu/schulmangallery to complete and submit a Schulman Gallery THE ART OF MUSIC ART EXHIBITION Agreement Form, along with .jpg digital file images of up to three original artworks for possible inclusion in this exhibition.

All artworks the artist intends to exhibit must be received by the Curator for review and approval by: Friday, August 16, 2024. Any artwork deemed unprofessional or inappropriate will not be accepted. The Gallery reserves the right to refuse to exhibit artwork that is not within the Gallery standards. Students that utilize the Broadway Parking Lot in downtown Nanticoke are advised to not leave their vehicles parked overnight. We have been advised that Nanticoke Police Department are having issues with a "homeless encampment" near the lot and unattended vehicles left overnight may be towed.

If a vehicle needs to remain on campus overnight for any reason, contact Campus Security 570-239-0128 for permission to leave on main campus.

On Wednesday, June 12, 2024 the PA Department of Health will be on campus at the Public Safety Training Institute distributing free Potassium Iodide Tablets, or KI Tablets to those who live, work, or go to school within 10 miles of a nuclear facility. The distribution hours are 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM. If you can not make it here at that time, please contact the PA Dept. of Health at 1-877-PA-HEALTH, or visit their website: health.pa.gov.

Information sheets explaining how many KI tablets should be taken, when to take the tablets, and how to store them are provided with the packages. Public health nurses can answer your questions.

Distribution will be set up as a drive thru only. Entrance will be off of Prospect Street entering Public Safety Drive and proceeding thru the bay to meet with the PA Department of Health Nursing staff. This event is sponsored by the PA Dept. of Health.

The Writing Place on Main Campus will be located in Building 3, room 308, from June 17 to July 8 while construction is completed in Building 9.

Because room 308 is a student computer lab, I want to emphasize that all students will continue to have access to this lab for printing, working on essays, internet access, etc.

An updated announcement will be posted when the center returns to Building 9.

The LCCC Alumni Association Flea Market & Collectible Show is this Saturday, June 1 from 8:00am - 1:00pm in the Educational Conference Center parking lots. The show will feature more than 50 vendors selling a wide array of items from household items, flea market items, direct sales, food vendors, craft, jewelry and much more. We will have an alumni table with 50/50 raffles, theme baskets and plenty of bargains.

The members of the Hi Lites Motor Club will have a car cruise from 10:00am - 1:00pm in the adjacent parking lot near the Advanced Technology Center and feature a wide variety of cool cars!

Plan to join us this Saturday from 8:00am - 1:00pm and do some bargain shopping and treasure hunting!
