LCCC to hold open houses at Berwick Center in August
Luzerne County Community College will hold two open houses in August at its Berwick Center.
The College will hold the open houses from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21, and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24. The open houses will provide prospective students with more information on the center.*
"The Berwick Center provides an opportunity for students to take classes at LCCC while staying close to home," said Albra Heineman, Berwick & Greater Susquehanna Center Director. "The Berwick Center and LCCC's other centers provide a vital service to their respective communities because it helps offer an affordable way for students to start their educational careers."
The Center enables students in the area to take general education courses close to home before transferring to the main campus to continue their education. Additionally, LCCC offers online classes students can take.
The open houses are for new students, prospective students as well as members of the communities who want to learn more about the Center and what it offers. During the open houses, there will be breakout sessions to see what resources and opportunities are available, tours of the center, and meet and greets with administrators and professors. If a person can't attend the open houses, they can contact the Center to schedule a time to tour the facility and meet with representatives of the College.
