A reminder that there are a variety of discount ticket programs offered to staff and students of LCCC. To view the available discounts visit the "Discount Tickets" tab on the staff/student intranet.

When you click on the tab you will see links for:

School Theater Tickets - Broadway tickets available at discounted prices; and

Tickets at Work - a wide variety of discounts for movies, hotels, travel, theme parks, concerts, sporting events and more. To create an account click "become a member" and use company code LCCCAA.

More options will be added if they become available. If you have any questions, or know of any organizations that are willing to offer discounts exclusively for LCCC staff, students or graduates please let me know and we can add them to the listings.

The Susquehanna Nuclear Power Plant will test all of the emergency alert sirens around the Susquehanna plant on Thursday, August 15 at 11 AM. The sirens will sound once with a steady signal for three minutes.

After the sirens sound, local emergency alert system radio and television stations will carry a message about the test.
Remember if you hear a siren sound, at 11 AM on Thursday August 15 with a steady signal for three minutes, it's only a test.

The Exterior Lighting Replacement Project, affecting lighting between Building 1 (Campus Security/Shipping and Receiving/Printing and Publications) and Prospect Street will begin later this week (week of August 5, 2024) and continue through mid-September.

There will be temporary restrictions on sidewalks and temporary interruptions in egress along Opportunity Way at various points during the project. Please walk/drive through this area with care for the safety of yourself and the contractors.

The Schulman Gallery of Luzerne County Community College is proud to present THE ART OF MUSIC ART EXHIBITION which will run from Friday, September 27, 2024 through Friday, October 25, 2024 and feature visual artworks that were inspired by music and created by NEPA regional artists.

If you are an Artist eighteen years of age or older residing in Northeastern Pennsylvania and would like your artwork that was inspired by music to be considered for inclusion in this upcoming exhibition, please visit the Schulman Gallery website at: www.luzerne.edu/schulmangallery to complete and submit a Schulman Gallery THE ART OF MUSIC ART EXHIBITION Agreement Form, along with .jpg digital file images of up to three original artworks for possible inclusion in this exhibition.

We are preparing to place the next batch of dedicated commemorative brick at the College's Walk of Honor. These newly purchased bricks will be unveiled at this year's September 11th Remembrance Ceremony.

The bricks can be engraved with any sentiment you choose - your name and grad year, recognize a loved one or honor your favorite faculty member. Congratulations to Men's basketball player Matt Panchura,who made the National Junior college Athletic Associations All-Academic Third Team. To be on the All-Academic Third Team, a student needed a grade point average between 3.6 and 3.79. The LCCC family is proud of Matt's achievements on and off the court.

Plans are underway for the 35th annual LCCC Alumni Association Craft Festival on Saturday, October 19 from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm on our Nanticoke campus (note new end time). This longstanding event will feature more than 150 vendors selling a variety of handmade items, delicious food, a raffle and theme basket auction (donations welcome!) and much more. In addition, the Hi-Lites Car Club will host a car cruise and Trunk or Treat from 11-2pm in the employee lot near building 3.

We are accepting applications through July 31 for our first round of jurying for participation in the show. More information can be found on the Craft Festival website at www.luzerne.edu/alumni/craft. Student clubs are welcome to participate in the event.

Volunteers are needed on Friday, October 18 from 4:00-6:00 pm and Saturday, October 19 from 7:00am- 4:30 pm. Please consider helping out at this Festival, it's a great event!

Students that utilize the Broadway Parking Lot in downtown Nanticoke are advised to not leave their vehicles parked overnight. We have been advised that Nanticoke Police Department are having issues with a "homeless encampment" near the lot and unattended vehicles left overnight may be towed.

If a vehicle needs to remain on campus overnight for any reason, contact Campus Security 570-239-0128 for permission to leave on main campus.
