Position Title: FT Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Position Classification: Full-Time Administration

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  1. Education - Master's Degree in a related discipline.

  2. Experience - Five (5) years progressively responsible administrative or leadership experience related to diversity, equity, and inclusion within higher education; program development and assessment experience is preferred.

  3. Skills - Demonstrated leadership; ability to plan, implement, and lead collaborative initiatives in support of organizational change; ability to foster a welcoming environment; understand, be sensitive to, and respect the diversity among students, faculty, administrators, and staff within a college community; ability to facilitate productive discussions and assessment to guide decision-making including the ability to build trust, relationships, and credibility; demonstrable verbal, written, and presentation/instruction skills that support work with faculty, staff, administration, community members, board members, and students, using evidence-based practice; awareness of applicable local, state and federal laws, codes, rules, and regulations.

    Position Responsibilities:

    Provides leadership, management, assessment, and strategic planning for the design and implementation of an institution-wide framework and initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion; promotes the importance and benefits of a diverse, equitable, and inclusive college community; serves as the College's Title IX Coordinator; stays current with literature and best practices for enhancing inclusivity, engagement, and cultural proficiency at the organizational, administrative, student support and academic levels; serves as a strategic consultant to administrators and department leaders to support departmental diversity and inclusion efforts; works closely with the Committee for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to build on existing strengths and identify areas of growth; prepares assessment and other evidence related to the progress of the institution in diversity, equity and inclusion; participates in information sessions and discussions with faculty, staff, and students, including providing educational programming and professional development opportunities; assists in creating an organizational culture (both within and across departments) that provides a safe, enriching, and inclusive environment for faculty, staff, and students; assists in policy development and implementation; participates in professional organizations and professional development relevant to diversity, equity, and inclusion; ensures the most effective operations of the Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion through staff and resource management, budgeting, program development, process improvement and coordination/integration of processes with other departments; supervises staff, assigns work and work schedules, adjusts priorities, has final authority on approval/disapproval of leave, conducts performance evaluation of staff makes recommendations for hiring and/or termination and problem resolution. Other related duties as assigned.

    Entry Salary: $64,979.95/annual

    Standard Work Week: 35 hours
