Position Title: PT Fitness Center/Gymnasium Attendant (2:00 pm - 7:00 pm)

Position Classification: Part-Time Classified

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  1. Education - High School Graduate, or governed exercise certifications and or current progress toward a college degree, preferably in physical education.

  2. Experience - One (1) year of appropriate experience preferably in recreational facility management.

  3. Skills - Demonstrated physical education training and injury prevention; organizational skills and ability to monitor students and staff in exercise facility; records maintenance skills; demonstrated skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.

    Position Responsibilities:

    Checks ID's for entrance into Fitness Center and Gymnasium; maintains proper sanitation of exercise equipment; maintains security of the Fitness Center and Gymnasium; assists students and staff with proper exercise equipment usage; assists with inventorying supplies and equipment, and ordering materials needed for the fitness center or gymnasium; may set up and monitor equipment ensuring that the equipment is returned in usable condition; works with users on individual exercise activity program, for example, cardiovascular, flexibility training and/or weight training, ensuring the safety of the user and equipment; informs the Physical Plant Department of the maintenance requirement needs of the Fitness Center and Gymnasium; assists with setups and breakdown of equipment for classes, if needed; assists in the preparation of reports, records maintenance and data tracking, as needed; communicates and interacts with students, faculty and athletics in all sports; assists in the assessment of environmental hazards and safety requirements; interview, train and supervise work study students; performs other related duties as assigned.

    Entry Salary: $9.15/hour

    Standard Work Week: 25 Hours
