LCCC to hold open houses at Greater Susquehanna Center in August
Luzerne County Community College will hold two open houses in August at its Greater Susquehanna Center in Watsontown.
The College will hold the open houses from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24. The open houses will provide prospective students with more information on the center.*
"Our open houses give students the chance to learn more about LCCC and how the College can help them on their path to getting an education," said Albra Heineman, Berwick & Greater Susquehanna Center Director. "Our Greater Susquehanna Center provides students with access to an affordable college education while staying close to home."
The Greater Susquehanna Center often sees a lot of students who are pursuing degrees in nursing because its facility offers classes and has equipment that's used in teaching the sciences. Additionally, many students attend the Center to take their general education courses before transferring to the main campus. LCCC also offers online classes students can take.
The open houses are for new students, prospective students as well as members of the communities who want to learn more about the Center and what it offers. During the open houses, there will be breakout sessions to see what resources and opportunities are available, tours of the center, and meet and greets with administrators and professors. If a person can't attend the open houses, they can contact the Center to schedule a time to tour the facility and meet with representatives of the College.
