Current Students

Luzerne County Community College and its centers will transition to online learning for the remainder of the Fall semester, effective at of the end of classes on Friday, November 20. The College will provide a hybrid option for students enrolled in those programs which include a hands-on component. All offices and services will remain open including student computer labs and the Library.

  • Sections 701, 702, 703, etc. - Online sections. Some courses may require an onsite mid-term or final exam.
  • Sections 7H... - Hybrid sections. Combines face-to face instruction along with online course work. See schedule for specific meeting days/times.
  • Sections 7V... - Virtual online sections. Requires specific meeting days/times in a live, online environment. Classes held using a web conferencing platform with faculty instruction.

Blackboard Learn is the College's online learning platform. Login into Blackboard Learn at https://learn.luzerne.edu/ Your user name will be your initials followed by your seven-digit student ID number. Your password will also be your initials followed by your seven-digit student ID number. Please change your password under settings immediately to protect your privacy.

The Backboard app is designed especially for students to view content and participate in courses. This app is available on IOS, Android, and Windows mobile devices at http://help.blackboard.com/Mobile_Learn

Students who have payment plans through Cashnet will not be charged a late fee if they fail to make an installment payment on time. This will be in effect until July 1, 2020.

Please email or drop off a copy of your IEP, 504 Plan or Doctor's note to dpassarella@luzerne.edu. Please be sure to use your LCCC email account for any official college business to ensure your identity.

Luzerne County Community College intends to continue providing instruction so that students have the opportunity to successfully complete their coursework through a variety of modes including online. Therefore, there will be no refunds of tuition and fees. Please refer to the College's refund policy at: https://www.luzerne.edu/admissions/refundpolicy.jsp

Students who are concerned about their ability to join the alternative instructional plan can withdraw from classes that now require online participation, or receive an incomplete grade. The incomplete process will require faculty approval and a plan for the completion of the course. Faculty need to work directly with those students on the necessary paperwork. The College will be able to provide a Financial Aid waiver if necessary for their Federal and State aid to eliminate any negative impact on future aid due to these withdrawals and incompletes.

Food Bank items are available in the College's security offices, Building 1, Monday through Thursday 8:00 am-7:00 pm. Student ID required.

Applications can be completed and submitted on-line at https://studentportal.luzerne.edu/scholarship/

Materials can be returned in the book drop outside the Library or they can be mailed back using USPS media mail. If you are returning in the spring semester, the Library can renew the book until the start of the new semester as an alternative. Contact the Library for more information.

Yes! The Library has over 150,000 eBooks and 80 research databases accessible 24/7. Go to http://depts.luzerne.edu/library/ Users will be prompted for their student ID and password.

Yes! Students can register in several ways:

  • Via Self Service Student Planner as long as you have 2.5 GPA and have earned 15 credits or more. If you have not used Self Service before please view the tutorial HERE by email by sending your course and section requests to registrar@luzerne.edu from your LCCC email account.
  • Through a counselor or advisor. You can request a remote advising appointment by emailing counseling@luzerne.edu or by calling 800- 1-800-377-5222, press #2 for an individual advising session.
  • Visiting students can utilize Self Service Student Planner to register for classes without the permission of a counselor or advisor. If you have not used Self-Service before please view the tutorial found HERE

If you do not have an LCCC email account, please go to https://studentportal.luzerne.edu/welcome/ to set up your LCCC email account. If you need technical support with this step or forgot your password, please contact LCCC's help desk at 1800-377-5222 Option #1 or email them at helpdesk@luzerne.edu.

The Financial Aid office is open to students. You also can email us at fao@luzerne.edu or by phone at 570-740-0389.

You can submit any requested documentation such as financial aid verification (tax transcripts, W2s, etc.) to fao@luzerne.edu or fax us at 570-740-0347.

You can track the status of your financial aid process online via Self-Service at https://self-service.luzerne.edu. Once you open the Financial Aid section, you can view the checklist of items needed to complete your file. There are links to Financial Aid forms to print and complete as well as links to websites to obtain IRS information.
