Luzerne County Community College (LCCC) is proud to announce a momentous occasion as 12 outstanding Early College students will receive their college degrees just days before their high school graduations. This milestone highlights the relentless dedication and hard work these students have displayed throughout their educational journeys.
These exceptional students have successfully navigated the rigorous coursework of both high school and college, illustrating that determination and support pave the way for remarkable achievements.
Their dual graduation is not only a significant conclusion but also an exciting beginning as they prepare to pursue new academic and career goals. "The effort and commitment displayed by these students is truly inspirational," noted Dr. Graceann Platukus, Vice President of Enrollment Management & Student Affairs. "They have balanced the challenges of college courses alongside high school responsibilities, embodying the core values of perseverance and excellence that we cherish at LCCC."
As they approach their high school graduations, these Early College students are equipped with foundational skills and knowledge that will aid them in their future endeavors. Their journeys exemplify the vast possibilities available when education is pursued with passion and boldness.
Among the graduates are Maia Costagliola of Pittston Area High School and Nathan Higgins of Crestwood High School. They, along with their peers, will receive their diplomas from LCCC this Thursday, marking a significant achievement as they prepare for their high school graduation next week.
Maia expressed her appreciation, stating, "Being part of the Early College program has changed my life. I've had the opportunity to take challenging courses and meet inspiring teachers. I can't wait to apply what I've learned as I move forward in my education."
Nathan added, "Receiving my diploma from Luzerne County Community College is a huge honor. It has been a great experience balancing college and high school, and I believe it has prepared me well for what's next." We invite the community to join us in celebrating the accomplishments of these exceptional students as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.
