The LCCC Alumni Association will meet on Tuesday, April 18 and Tuesday, June 13, at 5 p.m., at the Educational Conference Center.
The Luzerne County Community College Alumni Association will hold the 25th annual Flea Market and Collectibles Show on Saturday, June 10, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the College's Educational Conference Center parking lot.
The flea market will consist of collectibles, flea market items, crafts, direct sales vendors, and food vendors. The event also will feature a Hi-Lites Motor Club car cruise from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Technology Center parking lot.
The event is free and open to the public. Proceeds benefit Alumni Association student programs. Rain date is Sunday, June 11.

The 41st Annual Suzanne Maria Rossetti Memorial Juried Art Show Winners' Exhibit will be held at the LCCC Schulman Gallery beginning Sunday, March 5 through Wednesday, April 12. The exhibit features artwork by students in grades 7 through12 from the Back Mountain, Tunkhannock, and Northwest areas. An opening reception will be held on Sunday, March 5, from 1 to 4 p.m., with tours of the LCCC Art Department at 2 and 2:45 p.m. A presentation of special awards will be held in the James T. Atherton Gymnasium, at 4 p.m. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The gallery also will be open on Saturday, March 18 and Saturday, April 1, from 10 a.m. to noon. The annual exhibit is sponsored by Joe and Sue Hand.

Classes End for the Spring Semester on Friday, May 5. Final Exams will be held from Saturday, May 6 through Friday, May 12.
The College will be closed on Friday, May 26 and Monday, May 29.
A community egg hunt will be held on Thursday, April 6, at 10 a.m., at the Luzerne County Community College Greater Susquehanna Center.
The egg hunt will include candy and prizes for children ages three to eight, and all children under age three will receive a cupcake.

The deadline for nominations for Graduation Awards is Friday, April 7.
The deadline for faculty and staff orders for Commencement attire is Friday, April 7.
The deadline for scholarship applications is Sunday, April 30.
ABLAZE!, the Digital Journal of Writing at LCCC, is accepting submissions for its spring 2023 issue. Genres include poems, short stories, features, and research essays. Deadline for submissions is Sunday, April 23. To make a submission, send from your LCCC email account; address to ablaze@luzerne.edu; place your full name and work's title in subject line; save your work as a Word document (.doc or .docx only -- NO .pdf or .pages files); and attach your file.
The deadline for submissions for the Student Art Exhibit is Monday, April 17.
The delivery date for the Alumni Candy Sale will be on Friday, March 31.
The Luzerne County Community College Alumni Association and Dental Health department from the Mary Gill Carrozza, R.N. School of Nursing and Health Sciences at the Francis S. and Mary Gill Carrozza, R.N. Health Sciences Center at LCCC will hold the 24th Annual Dental Health Alumni Day on Friday, May 12, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the College's Educational Conference Center.
Featured speakers will include Angie Yorina, RDH, MS, PHDHP, who will discuss "Nutrition and Dentition" and Eva Grayzel, who will present "Fortune and Misfortune: A Story NOT Silenced by Stage IV Oral Cancer." The program is intended for all graduates of LCCC's dental programs, however, all medical professional including dentists are welcome to attend.

Luzerne County Community College will hold an information night for its health sciences programs on Wednesday, May 10, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Francis S. and Mary Gill Carrozza, R.N. Health Sciences Center.
Information regarding the College's nursing, respiratory therapy, surgical technology, dental hygiene, Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA), and emergency medical services programs from the Mary Gill Carrozza, R.N. School of Nursing and Health Sciences will be available as well as information on enrollment procedures, tuition, and financial aid. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to meet with faculty members to discuss educational and career opportunities and to tour the center.
The open house also will include the unveiling of a 50th Anniversary banner which will be used to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the LCCC nursing program in September.

Luzerne County Community College will hold an information night for its hospitality and culinary programs on Wednesday, April 12, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the College's Joseph A. Paglianite Culinary Institute.
Information regarding the College's pastry arts management and culinary arts programs will be available and tours of the Joseph A. Paglianite Culinary Institute will be given. Information also will be provided on enrollment procedures, tuition, and financial aid and those in attendance will have the opportunity to meet with faculty members to discuss educational and career opportunities.

The Luzerne County Community College Dental Department and the Northeast Pennsylvania Dental Hygiene Association (NPDHA) will hold a Kids' Dental Day on Saturday, April 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the LCCC Benco Dental Clinic at the Francis S. and Mary Gill Carrozza, R.N. Health Sciences Center in Nanticoke.
The program is for children ages three to 17, and will include free dental exams, free sealants, free dental x-rays, free oral hygiene instruction, free fluoride treatments, and free dental health supplies.
LCCC dental students from the Mary Gill Carrozza, R.N. School of Nursing and Health Sciences will provide dental health information and prizes for children at several dental stations.

Luzerne County Community College will hold an Open House on Saturday, April 1, from 9:30 a.m. to noon, at the College's Campus Center.
Information on programs of study, financial aid, student activities and athletics, transfer and dual admission agreements, health sciences admission, English as a Second Language (ESL), career exploration, and student services will be available and tours of the campus will be given. The College's Adult Learners Association will provide a complimentary breakfast from 9:30 to 10 a.m., at the Trailblazer Cafeteria.

Luzerne County Community College will hold its 55th annual Commencement ceremony on Thursday, May 25, at 6 p.m., at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Paul Pringle will be this year's Commencement speaker.
Pringle is a Los Angeles Times reporter who specializes in investigating corruption. He also is the author of Bad City: Peril and Power in the City of Angels, a true-crime story which exposes institutional corruption. In 2019, Pringle and two colleagues won the Pulitzer Prize in Investigative Reporting for their work uncovering widespread sexual abuse at the University of Southern California, an inquiry that grew out of their reporting the year before on the dean of USC's medical school.
Pringle was a Pulitzer Prize finalist in 2009 and a member of reporting teams that won Pulitzer Prizes in 2004 and 2011. He won the George Polk Award in 2008, the same year the Society of Professional Journalists of Greater Los Angeles honored him as a distinguished journalist. Along with several colleagues, he shared in Harvard University's 2011 Worth Bingham Prize for Investigative Reporting. Pringle and a Los Angeles Times colleague won the California Newspaper Publishers Association's Freedom of Information Award in 2014 and the University of Florida's Joseph L. Brechner Freedom of Information Award in 2015.
Pringle is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and California State University. He lives in Glendale, California and is a native of Luzerne County.
The Luzerne County Community College Health, Physical Education and Exercise Science Department from the Mary Gill Carrozza, R.N. School of Nursing and Health Sciences at LCCC will hold its annual Race for a Cause 5K Run/Fun Walk on Friday, April 28, at 6:30 p.m., at the College's campus in Nanticoke.
Participants can pre-register in advance or at the race. The first 60 registered participants will receive a free insulated tote bag. Registration fee is $20 per person. Awards will be given to the first overall male and female in the 5K Run. Awards also will be given to the top three finishers in the following age groups for both males and females in the 5K Run: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over.

Campus Candids - Alumni Hold Murder Mystery Dinner!
The members of the LCCC Alumni Association sponsored a murder mystery dinner at the Mary Stegmaier Mansion, in Wilkes-Barre. The immersive murder mystery included an opening reception, dinner, and three-act murder mystery. All guests for the 80's themed murder mystery were encouraged to dress in their favorite 80's attire.
