Position Title: FT Director of Application Development and Support

Position Classification: Full-Time Administration

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  1. Education - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or a related field is required; Master's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or a related field is preferred.

  2. Experience - Five (5) years of professional application development and database administration experience with relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, or UniData) is required; experience with enterprise systems including SIS, ERP, CRM, and Business Intelligence software applications is required, experience as a programmer/analyst with a firm understanding of technical concepts and business practices in higher education is preferred; experience with Ellucian Colleague software including Colleague Studio and Salesforce CRM is preferred.

  3. Skills - Project planning and implementation skills; ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments; ability to foster a cooperative work environment; employee development and performance management skills; knowledge and understanding of information services needs within both an academic and administrative environment; demonstrated ability to plan and integrate information systems within a complex, interdependent organization; ability to evaluate and interpret end user information requirements, and to develop appropriate systems and/or applications solutions; skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures; ability to specify and develop computer programs using a range of programming languages; knowledge of current developments and technological trends in computer software and security; ability to research, analyze, and conceptualize long-term information systems needs on an organizational basis; knowledge of budgeting and fiscal management principles and procedures; ability to provide operational guidance and leadership to a technical staff.

    Position Responsibilities:

    Responsible for managing institution-wide efforts to implement, maintain, integrate, test, and support the college's enterprise IT systems including the administrative Ellucian Colleague Finance and Student modules, Salesforce CRM, websites, BI reporting tools, and all other college administrative systems and integrations; responsible for analyzing, designing, creating/coding, testing, documenting, supporting, and maintaining new and existing software applications, databases, Business Intelligence reporting systems, and for integrations with cloud-based services and with the College's various other systems including but not limited to ERP, SIS, CRM, and LMS systems, Active Directory and M365 APIs, and the various college websites; supervise the Administrative Systems Manager/Student Systems, the Systems Analyst/Database Administrator, the Director of Administrative Computing, and the Director of Technical and Internet Services; serve as the Salesforce/TargetX CRM Administrator, collaborate with internal teams to assist with software design and architecture and to develop code to automate tasks; develop and implement systems and processes to establish and maintain records; develop and implement projects and programs to assist in accomplishment of established short and long-term goals; formulate the development and implementation of integrated information technology policies and standards for the College; train and support IT staff within the department to ensure quality of performance and currency of skills; develop the annual operating budgets and provide fiscal direction for application support; participate in development, implementation and maintenance of policies, objectives, short-range and long-range planning; supervise staff, assign work and work schedules, adjust priorities, has final authority on approval/disapproval of leave, conducts performance evaluation of staff; makes recommendations for hiring and/or termination and problem resolution. Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Entry Salary: $70,783.78/annual

    Standard Work Week: 35 hours
