Position Title: FT Technology Support Technician (Position 2 - 11:00 am to 7:00 pm - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm)

Position Classification: Full-Time Classified

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  1. Education - Associate Degree in appropriate technology field (or equivalent)

  2. Experience - Two (2) years of appropriate work experience in the areas of media and technology support services; experience at a higher education institution is preferred.

  3. Skills - Proficient knowledge of personal computer hardware and related peripherals, computer operating systems and applications; ability to install and support personal computer software such as antivirus, email, operating systems, and standard office applications; working knowledge of the use and maintenance of audio/visual, telecommunications, and instructional technology equipment; communications skills both oral and written; ability to complete work assignments independently.

    Position Responsibilities:

    Assists the Director of Service Desk in supporting all end-users (staff and students) in the use of college technology services and resources at the College's main campus and dedicated centers using remote management software and/or by traveling to centers; responsible for audio and visual (A/V) production of college-related events including setup/tear down of media equipment; support, schedule, maintain, and repair the college's A/V equipment including telecommunications equipment, projectors, supplies, digital signage systems, smart boards, broadcast cable and digital satellite TV systems, and chimes system; install, upgrade, troubleshoot, and distribute college software and hardware equipment; works with vendors to coordinate service calls and replacement of technology equipment; provides training to staff on software and hardware usage; provides basic help desk support for the college technology systems including answering and responding to phone calls, email messages, and walk-in requests; assists the Director of Service Desk in planning for the annual technology replacement plan including the A/V budget; keeps electronic records of equipment checkouts.

    Entry Salary: $19,599.00/annual

    Standard Work Week: 35 hours
