Position Title: FT Interim Director, Dental Health

Position Classification: Full-Time Administration

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  1. Education - Master's Degree in Health Care Administration, Education or a related field or currently enrolled in graduate program in Health Care Administration, Education or a related field; Registered Dental Hygienist and Certified Dental Assistant is required.

  2. Experience - Three (3) years clinical practice and/or teaching dental hygiene in an institution of higher education is required; community college experience is preferred.

  3. Skills - Ability to plan and evaluate programs; ability to plan and implement short range and long range goals and objectives; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse community; ability to manage program; proven teaching skills in the classroom and clinical settings; knowledge of Federal, State, and institutional regulations and guidelines for the provision of dental outpatient services; knowledge of the full range of dental clinical procedures and protocols.

    Position Responsibilities:

    Coordinate planning and implementation of the program of instruction for the Dental Assisting, Dental Hygiene and Expanded Functions Dental Assisting programs; assist in the review and revision of the curricula for Dental Assisting, Dental Hygiene and Expanded Functions Dental Assisting programs; assist with recruitment, selection and advising of students; conduct department faculty meetings and advisory committee meetings; develops department course schedules and faculty teaching schedules; coordinate the preparation of course outlines and other program materials; prepares and develops press releases and promotional materials, in conjunction with the Marketing and College Relations Departments; pursues grant opportunities in conjunction with the Grant Specilist/Writer; promotes professional development for department faculty; responsible for the development and implementation of the department budget and expenditure of funds; coordinate ordering of textbooks, dental supplies and capital equipment; serve as liaison to dental industry, professional associations and regulatory agencies; develops and prepare accreditation reports and coordinate accreditation site visits; participates in teaching as required; assists in job placement for graduates and promote alumni activities; monitor State laws and national accreditation standards to ensure program compliance; completes annual CODA accreditation surveys for Dental Assisting, Dental Hygiene and Expanded Functions Dental Assisting programs; pursues and maintains articulation agreements with four-year institution.

    Entry Salary: $61,022.00/annual

    Standard Work Week: 35 hours
